Without a doubt, 2012 delivered some of the most awe-inspiring events and anniversaries ever celebrated by this country and created unprecedented opportunities to position England as one of the most exciting destinations on Earth. During the same year, the industry battled against a complex set of challenges affecting various sectors in a myriad of different ways across the country depending on their offering, location and the fluctuating local delivery landscape.

In our role as the National Tourism Board for England, we have been working on behalf of the industry to identify opportunities, broker partnerships and contribute positively to the creation of an environment for sustainable growth. The VisitEngland Annual Report 2012-13, reflects on our activity over the last year and our contribution towards securing the Olympic-legacy and the ambitious growth targets set by the Strategic Framework for Tourism in England 2010-20.

VisitEngland's first Annual Review 2011-12 provides you with an insight into a "Year in the life of VisitEngland". In our role as the National Tourism Board for England, we have been working on behalf of the industry to identify opportunities, broker partnerships and contribute positively to the creation of an environment for sustainable growth.
