VisitEngland’s Board decides the organisation’s overall direction, working within a framework agreed with the sponsoring Government department, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). The Board also monitors the organisation’s performance against targets agreed with DCMS.

Nick Varney is the Chief Executive of Merlin Entertainments Group.
Denis Wormwell is Chief Executive of Shearings Group.
David Orr is a Co-Founder and the Chief Executive of City Inn Ltd.
Amanda Cottrell has been the Chairman of Visit Kent since 2007, and is Vice President of the Canterbury Festival.
John Hoy is the Chief Executive of the Blenheim Estate in Oxfordshire.
Sarah Stewart is Chief Executive of NewcastleGateshead Initiative.
Suzanne Bond is the Chief Executive of Cornwall Development Company and sits on our board in an ex-officio capacity.
Steve Brown sits on our board in an ex-officio capacity and currently has a portfolio of interests which include being Chairman of Bluestone Leisure Limited, Chairman of the National Trust in the East Midlands and a Director of Anchor Housing Trust.
Sandie Dawe MBE is Chief Executive of VisitBritain and sits on our board in an ex-officio capacity.
