With a 20 plus year history, the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence (formerly the EnjoyEngland Awards) are the highest accolade in English tourism. The awards recognise businesses that incorporate best practice throughout their operation and also celebrate the very best quality and innovation, helping to raise standards across the industry and secure England’s place as a world-class holiday destination. The 2011 ceremony was held in the Great Hall at Birmingham University on Friday 15 April. A total of 17 gold winners and 38 silver winners were picked from 126 entries.
