User Driven Priorities

ETIP’s first task was to commission The Tourism Company to find out exactly what the industry’s needs and priorities are for tourism statistics and intelligence. The executive summary, full report and ETIP’s response are available here.

This report was fundamental in driving ETIP’s priorities and the work programme for the TIU. As a result four user driven priorities have been identified:

PRIORITY 1 –  Improvement in coverage and reliability of national statistics

PRIORITY 2 – Guidance and tools for measuring tourism regionally, sub-regionally and locally

PRIORITY 3 –  Improved co-ordination of activity and data methods

PRIORITY 4 – Improved communication about and access to statistics
