VisitEngland has teamed up with the Daily Mirror to find the country’s unsung travel industry hero.
As part of English Tourism Week 2012, VisitEngland and the Daily Mirror are asking locals and business alike to nominate their Tourism Superstar. This could be anyone from a volunteer guide, a shop employee or a cabbie to a hotel receptionist or a waiter. Someone who makes breaks in England extra special, a person who goes above and beyond the call of duty and is a real ambassador for the local area.
Simply tell us in 50 words or less what your Tourism Superstar does and why they deserve to win.
You must include their name and contact details, along with yours (phone number and an email if possible), and make sure they are happy to be nominated!
To enter email your 50-word entry with the subject Tourism Superstar to etw@visitengland.org
Or post your 50-word entry to Tourism Superstar, Competition, VisitEngland, 1 Palace Street, Victoria, London SW1E 5EH.
Nominations close February 27.
The winner will be announced in the Daily Mirror on 10 March and also will receive this new accolade at the annual VisitEngland Awards for Excellence gala dinner in May.
The person who nominates the winner will also win a pair of sneak peek tickets to the UK’s newest attraction Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, opening on March 31. The tour features authentic sets, costumes and props from the Harry Potter film series including iconic sets such as the Great Hall, Dumbledore’s office, Diagon Alley and the Gryffindor common room.
