The Coalition Government’s Tourism Policy encourages a review of visitor information through the exploration of such elements as brown signing, in-destination information provision, tourist information centre provision, new technologies and the distribution of software.  VE will take a lead role in this review process, primarily through the Modernising Visitor Information strand of the Strategic Framework - itself already moving to modernise visitor information through the establishment of a new consumer website and through the production and distribution of mobile apps but also as part of the Welcome to England aspect of its work.  In May VE will launch a new tourism information initiative using the latest QR smart phone technology and VE’s new website launches in June.
