Major Tourism Surveys

VisitEngland publishes statistics and survey information measuring many different aspects of the tourism industry. You can find the latest reports as well as historical trend data in this section, together with descriptions of each of the surveys.

Domestic Overnight Tourism (GB Tourism Survey - GBTS) Go

This monthly survey measures the volume and value of domestic overnight tourism, and provides detailed information about trip and visitor characteristics.

Visits from Overseas Residents (IPS) Go

The IPS is run by the Office for National Statistics, and provides information about the volume, value and source market of international visitors to the UK.

Day Visits (Great Britain Day Visits Survey) Go

A new survey to measure the volume and value of tourism Day Visits in Great Britain was launched in 2011, and has been continued into 2012

Accommodation in England Go
