A tweet a day for the next 100 days

VisitEngland are tweeting sporting, Olympic and 2012 content every day for the next 100 days, counting down to the London 2012 Opening Ceremonies and are looking to work with you to promote your destinations and tourism businesses.

VisitEngland is seeking content or tweets (of 140 characters or less) to include on the twitter feed @VisitEngland and the boundaries for content is excitingly broad; perhaps you have a historical sporting link? A certain sport or event hails from your area or an athlete does? Is your destination home to a quirky ‘alternative sport ‘or is there something exciting happening in your location to welcome the torch relay?

If you would like VisitEngland to feature your content send your entries to press@visitengland.org along with your Twitter handle, if applicable.

English Spokespeople

VisitEngland is seeking great English spokespeople and storylines which will have particular resonance with international journalists to feature in a Media Guide to be distributed to visiting media this summer. The Guide will be arranged by category, examples include: Chefs, Artists, Musicians and Sportspeople. These spokespeople will be experts in their field being able to tell a great story, add colour and a personal touch to their industry.

Country-specific storylines

In addition VisitEngland is gathering country-specific storylines, with particular interest in China, Japan, USA and Europe and this content will be displayed by target market. The storylines could be anything that would interest journalists from that market including strong characters that hail from that country but have chosen to live in England - hotel owners, curators, Michelin starred chefs, mayors etc.

The deadline for entries, for both spokespeople and storylines, is Tuesday 24th April. Please contact Laura Smith at laura.smith@visitengland.org if you would like to put personalities forward for the guide.
